Recent Bug Fix and Other News...

It came to my attention via an email from a user that there was a bug which didn't correctly randomize permanently unlocked items that were predefined. After looking through some of my site logs, I have figured out that this bug has existed for roughly 2 months. Today I can report that it has been fixed, so this means that items that you predefine as unlocked will appear in randomizations at the very low levels. I apologize for this inconvenience and I hope that you continue to use the Random Class Generator.

I would also like to say that today marks a huge milestone with this site because today marks the day where over 2 million classes have been generated. In order to celebrate this achievement, sometime next week I will be holding a contest with various prizes that can be won for participating.

A Possible New Feature

With the recent blizzard in the New England area (in the U.S.), mostly everything has been closed since there is too much snow to put anywhere, so I have had tons of free time at home and have been working on the site. I have fixed a few bugs, added a few small things, and if you use Internet Explorer (The site is optimized for Chrome) things should look better now.

But on topic of this post, I have made changes to the actual Generate Button of the site so it will sit inside a bar that is fixed to the bottom of the screen. The point of this is so that the Generate button will always be in a clickable range, and would not require any scrolling to get to. For some people, this may not be an inconvenience at all, but in my opinion I thought that it would be important for the bar to always be in a clickable range.

Permanently Unlocked Items From Prestiges

I am proud to announce another added feature is now available that was requested by a few people from reddit. There are many people who have not reached Prestige Master yet, but they have permanently unlocked a few class items through their prestiges. So, today the My Unlocks feature has been pushed out to the public. For those of us who have some permanent unlocks, they can now be entered in at the "My Unlocks" page. Doing this will give those items the chance to be selected whenever you generate a class, regardless if their unlock level is above or below the player level.

I would also like to mention that with the upcoming DLC, Revolution, there will be the ability to enable weapon DLC as soon as it is available.

Some New Features....

Well, some new features have been added over the last few days. The first being this news page, which will provide everyone with updates about anything that pertains to the RCG. The other thing I have started doing is some data logging as far as class creations and unique visitors. There was a previous method of logging every generated class, but it was not the best system (I knew that going into the public release, but I decided not to act on it yet) and it ended up failing so I lost some (minimal) data. You can check out the stats page here. All pages can be navigated via the dropdown menu in the banner, and chances are if you are reading this then you have already figured that out.

I do have some features that are planned for the future, some of which are:
  • The ability for users to save a list of classes.
  • The ability for users to specify guns they have already unlocked for randomization.
  • DLC weapons
  • Mobile Support
  • Release the algorithm
